Jesus Week

As Huntsy would say, "happy Jesus week!"

It's Holy Week in the Holy Land,
the week when Christians from all over the world make the pilgrimage to Jerusalem to celebrate the last week of Christ's life.

I have never celebrated Palm Sunday nor understood its significance until this year when I participated in the Palm Sunday Procession. The walk celebrates the triumphal entry of Jesus to Jerusalem. It starts at Bethphage, goes down the Mount of Olives, through Lion's Gate, and ends at St. Anne's Church. I suddenly became a part of a mass of singing, palm shaking, God-praising Christians, and I didn't recognize most of the languages that surrounded me. It was such an amazing feeling to be a part of such an important, celebratory day.

Mark 11
And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way.
And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord:
10 Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest.
