why God is good

Towards the beginning of the year, my Old Testament professor taught me that "God is good, always." It became my mantra. I began to notice both little things throughout my days as well as big things in my life that were evidences that God is good. This little phrase affected my entire semester and continues to make an impact on post-jeru life.

Yesterday was one of those days were everything could have gone wrong. I had laid in bed the night before entirely unable to sleep because my mind was racing just thinking about all of the things that needed to be done in the next 72 hours.

Then, everything fell into place:
  • On a time crunch, I ran into Einstein's bagels and walked right up to the counter. Immediately after a crowd of about 15 people walked in.
  • There were no lines anywhere I went on my morning errands.
  • There was one open parking spot in the lot closest to my apartment.
  • Rushing to class, I was 5 minutes late, and class hadn't started. I hadn't missed anything.
  • Once class started, my professor gave us an extra credit quiz.
  • The quiz was on the one chapter I had read in the last week.
  • Class ended with an announcement that for the first time ever our test would be in the testing center and would stay open until Friday.
  • I had 3 more days to study for a killer test that should have been yesterday.
  • I went to work and only had 3 emails to answer, when last week I had over 150.
  • When I came home, I found out that my previously failed cleaning check was annulled, and I didn't have to pay to have it rechecked.
  • While I had shut myself in my room to finish a research project, a friend called out of the blue and offered to bring me dinner.

So I know, they may seem trivial. But each of these things felt miraculous to me. God was looking out for me during my busy week.

God is good, always.
